Wayne State University's Publication,The South End News, featured Pompous Apparel in their Arts & Entertainment section. Although there are a few misconceptions..
Pompous Apparel is NOT a "hip-hop clothing line". If you must label it, label it "Streetwear". But we would prefer if you'd just refer to it as exactly what it is, Pompous apparel.
and misquotations ..
Our logo, Snuff (the big, good-looking pink fellow above in banner), is a metaphor for the obvious that goes unaddressed. The obvious (individualism, boundless confidence and limited inhibiton) & the reality that it makes those of a more timid persona so uncomfortable that they dare to address you.
we are overly appreciative of the support.

So here's the thing.
There's this guy named Greg Jennings. Good Guy. He's from Kalamazoo, MI and he plays as a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers now. He was drafted in the second round, 52nd pick, in the 2006 NFL draft. In that time he's earned 22 touchdowns, 2,609 receiving yards, and 162 receptions. In high school he was a tri-athlete, earning all conference titles in football, basketball, and track. In football, he played four different positions as a a three-time letterman and was listed 11th on the "Fab 50" Rankings for the Detroit Free Press as a senior and was voted seventh in the running for Mr. Basketball of Michigan--he is a very talented athlete needless to say.
Once he got to college, Western Michigan, he finished his football career with 238 receptions for 3539 receiving yards and 39 touchdowns. He became the 11th player to gain over 1,000 yards three times in a college career.
Impressed Yet?
How about this. He's just your regular good guy. Ladies, he married his high school sweetheart in 2005.. I guess chivalry isn't completely dead. Together they have a one year old daughter and he still goes back to Kalamazoo to visit his family and friends that supported him his whole career. As a matter of fact, the mayor of Kalamazoo recently announced that December 2nd is Greg Jennings Day. A whole day! That's love. He's just an all around decent guy.
So, let's help this all around decent guy. We gotta send him to the Pro-Bowl. With 10,000 votes we can help him get there. I know this sounds like a bad infomercial script but let's help this brother out. All you have to do it go to this site and select his name under the NFC WIDE RECEIVERS ballot. You can vote as many times a day as you want but voting ends December 9th. So yeah, let's help him out.

I want to shop in thrift stores in Singapore, wear tarnished bangles and too many rings.
I'm a dork. But I'm slowly beginning to be okay with it. I'm under the impression that when undork people see things like this:
their breathing pattern doesn't become irregular, they don't feel in a sense of panic, get sweaty palms on occasion, or unconsicously put the rest of the world on mute.
It's just not normal.

So, I really hate posting things that 'everyoneandtheymama' have already posted, debated, or blogged about. BUT, seeing as I'm 94% NBA fanatic, I have to post this:
Ladies & Gents (but mostly gents since ladies don't really follow), Allen "The Answer" Iverson is now a Detroit Piston!
The first question I posed to my boyfriend was not "Who did they trade him for?" or "How many points per game does he average?" or any other of the important questions one should ask. No, my first question was "What's his number gonna be?" Naturally resorting to my feministic character, I was baffled by the potential conflict this would cause! But, crisis averted. Stuckey offered up his number (#3) to Ivo but the NBA ruled that a change of numbers wasn't allowed until after the season had ended. So, Iverson graciously yielded his beloved #3 in exchange for a team that works together (and well), and makes a [silent] promise to go to the Ship.
Small price to pay, eh?
Now, after I got over that whole ordeal, I started to hear the whispers that Detroit Piston fans weren't so happy about it. (This is when the important questions came into play.) Okay so we might've had to give up Chauncey, McDyess and some other guy which seems like an unfair trade if you look at it at first glance but think about it--while Chauncey was the posterboy for the Pistons, Allen Iverson is the posterboy for whatever team he's playing for. How many of you even followed Chauncey's career before he played for the Pistons? Did you know that he's been in the league since 1997? In this time, playing for the Celtics, Toronto, DENVER, Orlando Magic, and the Minnesota Timberwolves before he came to Detroit. Also, he averages 15PPG which is not bad but when compared to AI's 28PPG, Chauncey starts to look a little shabby. All I'm saying is give the brother a chance Piston fans. I suppose it's okay to mourn the loss of Chauncey, McDyess, and the other guy but need I remind you, the Pistons haven't won a championship since 2004 and have kept pretty much the same team, give or take. It's time for a change. I'm sure you'll wipe those tears when AI helps take us to the Ship and get another ring. Speaking of rings AI doesn't have ONE!! I don't know about you, but I'm partial to guys who've bust their ass in the league and carried their teams and have nothing to show for it. Hence KEVIN GARNETT being my absolute favorite player. Chauncey has one, let's give AI one too.

Change IV A Dollar
TUESDAY TUESDAY TUESDAY TUESDAY TUESDAY
So, here’s the thing. I’m not sure if all, or any, of you realize the magnitude of the situation we’re in right now. HISTORY—like what’s in the books that all of us had to read in high school—is being made. We have the opportunity to vote the first Black president into office. And not only is it in our lifetime, it’s TUESDAY. Everyone, especially black people, complain how we’re at the bottom of the political food chain. Well now is the chance to be proactive about it. You’ve heard this before, I’m sure. So what’s the problem? I don’t hear nearly as many people geeked about going to vote on Tuesday as I do about So and So’s Halloween Party. This is so much bigger than you. This is about your kids, and your grandkids and allowing them to have better opportunities than you. I’m sure you’ve watched one of those documentaries on slavery, or violence against blacks in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Those people died…DIED… for us to have the opportunities we have today. So I don’t think it’s a huge inconvenience to ask you just to go VOTE. I can guarantee you that Barack will do more for you than any party promoter, club owner, etc. And if the only reason you’re voting for Barack is because he’s black—from an ethical standpoint, go and watch at least a speech or two on YouTube. He’s not some shuck and jive nigga. He’s a very educated, well-spoken, passionate, and qualified candidate. Also, instead of being so concerned with your Halloween costumes—be sure you know what you can and cannot wear at the polls. Nothing endorsing any candidates can be worn—no tee shirts, no hats, no pins, etc. . So go vote. Yeah it’s going to be cold and yeah the lines will be long. Whatever. I don’t see the lines at the club getting any shorter. They want you to get discouraged; they want to be able to prove that we don’t deserve to vote because even when we have the opportunity to change the world, we won’t. That’s the end of my rant, I’ll get off my soapbox now.

Some guy on YouTube made this video for a Lupe track that I'm pretty sure was never released cause Pharrell produced it and used it for a track on NERD's latest album. But it's a dope Lupe track and video so kudos to this guy.

Soo..
I decided wanted donuts for breakfast, right?
Naturally, Krispy Kreme's.
Before I had realized it, I ate the whole half dozen.
Sigh.
After the damage had been done, I figured I should've looked at the nutritonal facts.
On the top of the box it said 0 grams Trans Fat so I figured,
"Hey! I'm good!"
But then, there they were, on the bottom of the box..taunting me.
190 calories per!
190 X 6 = 1,140 calories!
And that was all before 11am.
Good things my metabolism is on crack.

So over the past few days, I've been journeying to some relatively odd places and dealing with some, even on a regular basis, weird people.
Photographs.
My big sister and some weirdo sitting next to her who kept jumping in the photo.

More Photographs.
and then we went to the Thankgiving Parade Preview. Which at age 20, was just as magical as it was when I was 8.
Yeah. me, Cora and the Monkey Man broke it all the way down.
